You could throw a rock blindfolded backstage at New York Fashion Week, and I guarantee every person you hit would be passionate about their work. But a key artist who will take the time to chat with you like you've been BFF's forever is a rare gem. The first time I met Melanie Mills backstage at Stephen Burrows, I was bowled over by her warmth and generosity. Every time we cross paths, be it backstage at NYFW or at IMATS, I am reminded that in this competitive industry, it is not only the ones who are secretive about their techniques and work out of mystery (read unmarked) containers that rise to the top of the game.
That first meeting, Melanie pressed a tube of her newly released Gleam Body Radiance into my hands as I walked away to watch the runway show and changed my perception of faux glow creams forever. Gleam Body Radiance has saved my skin during a shoot on a number of occasions, and every single time I reach for it I try to make a metal note to let her know, exactly how she has influenced my work the next time I see her. Well Mel, now you know ;).
Melanie has taken the time to share with us how she celebrates her holidays, and of course, slip in a few tips and tricks for how to get your glitz on for the next party you are heading to. Stop by the Examiner to get the low down from an Emmy Award winning artist.
The 3rd Day of Christmas is particularly close to my heart. Gleam is partnering with me to offer a lovely gift package with Melanie Mill's newly released book Glitter & Glam, a 2oz Gleam Body Radiance, and three of her beautiful Gleam Lip Radiance Glosses.
