NYFW Fall 2014 | The Blonds, Part II : Backstage

I posted part one of my NYFW adventure with The Blonds and CND for their Fall 2014 Catwoman themed collection, and promised more. Well, here it is! The next evening, I found myself staring backstage at MILK studios, in awe of CND's final creations.

I've covered the The Blonds for multiple seasons and without fail, I am always impressed by the artistry of not just the garments and the nails, but every single aspect of the show.

Makeup was lead by Kabuki for MAC cosmetics. In step with Catwoman's comic origins, the look started with a blocked brow that was replaced with extra high, arched paper brows. Eyes were a simple cat-eye, color coded to match the villianess each model would be portraying. Lips followed suit, continuing the graphic theme with a deep wine liner surrounding a brighter lipstick to create a three-dimensional shape that popped off the face.

The look was topped off by not one but two blond wigs. In a style devised by Nick Irwin, Global Director for TIGI, each model's own hair was tied into a high ponytail, then backcombed with some finishing spray underneath to create volume at the crown. After placing the wigs, both the bangs and the back side were trimmed to form Betty Paige, pin-up-esque points.
